Questions About Child Support? We Have Answers.
An understandably large concern for divorcing parents and parents who do not live together is child support. Under Ohio law, child support is determined using a guideline. This formula uses the income of each parent and the number of children to determine the amount, with some allowable deductions. These deductions include daycare expenses and health insurance.
If you have concerns or questions about child support, schedule an initial consultation with King, Koligian & Associates, LLC, by emailing us or calling (513) 506-1025. We are happy to answer your questions and discuss what your child support amount may be or if a modification is appropriate.

Can The Child Support Amount Deviate From The Guidelines?
It is possible for a judge to deviate from the guidelines. However, there must be a good reason to do so. One reason the court may deviate is if there are extensive medical expenses for the child or costs involving special needs, or if there is a significant disparity in assets and income for the parents.
How Long Does Support Last?
Ohio parents can expect child support to last until the child graduates from high school or turns 18, whichever is later.
If Child Support Isn’t Being Paid, Can The Parent Still See The Children?
Child support and the parenting plan are separate. One does not automatically affect the other. However, there are ways to enforce existing child support orders and custody arrangements. Speak to us for more information.
