Can The Child Support Amount Deviate From The Guidelines?
It is possible for a judge to deviate from the guidelines. However, there must be a good reason to do so. One reason the court may deviate is if there are extensive medical expenses for the child or costs involving special needs, or if there is a significant disparity in assets and income for the parents.
How Long Does Support Last?
Ohio parents can expect child support to last until the child graduates from high school or turns 18, whichever is later.
